Sam Spanglet graduated from the Technion in 1973, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. After the Yom Kippur war, he started working in the Petro-Chemical industry in Israel and then emigrated to Canada in 1977. He spent over 25 years with Shell Canada, serving in a number of senior management positions, including Vice President, Operations and President, Albian Sands Energy.

Sam currently serves on Technion Canada’s Board of Directors, and was the Chair of the Canadian Technion Alumni Association until 2024. Sam is proud to go back to Technion each year as a guest professor to teach management and leadership to chemical engineering students, a course he designed based on his professional experience.
